Just three days removed from competing in the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championship, three members of the Cloud County Community College men's cross country team will compete in the 2025 NJCAA Men's Half Marathon Championship on Tuesday, November 11.
Representing the T-Birds in the 13.1 mile event will be sophomore
Gelasa Degefa Abdisa and freshmen
Jesus Baltazar and
Davis Miltner.
The Cloud County men's cross country team placed 23rd out of 30 teams at the 2025 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on November 8. The T-Birds posted the fifth best score among Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools in the race.
Abdisa was the T-Birds' top individual finisher in 58th place. Abdisa ran the 8k race in 27:07.0. Miltner crossed the line in 59th with a time of 27:07.5. Baltazar was 189th with a time of 30:59.6.
The men's half marathon race will begin at 10:10 am in Fort Dodge, Iowa, hosted by Iowa Central Community College. The half marathon starts at Iowa Central's Crimmins Building and finishes at Kennedy Park. A total of 396 runners representing 72 programs will be participating in this year's men's and women's half marathon.
This marks the first time Cloud County has competed in the half marathon since 2023. The Cloud County men's cross country team previously won the NJCAA Half Marathon National Championship in 2004.
