Five first-place performances powered the Cloud County Community College women's indoor track and field team to a second place team finish Saturday, January 25 at the NAIA/Juco Challenge in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Freshman
Maimuna Jallow delivered two first-place wins, setting new meet records in the 60M Dash in a national qualifying time of 7.35 and in the 200M Dash in a national qualifying time of 24.39.
In the 400M Dash, sophomore
Rafiatu Nuhu established a new meet record with a national qualifying time of 55.48.
The T-Birds went 1-3-4 in the 800M Run. Sophomore
Nontokozo Ncube broke the meet and program record in a national qualifying time of 2:10.80. Sophomore
N Vanee Anchike clocked a national qualifying third place time of 2:13.93. Freshman Amanda Kotambe was fourth in a national qualifying time of 2:22.03.
Anchike posted a winning run in the 3,000M in a new meet record, national qualifying time of 10:19.11.
In the One Mile Run, Kotambe was fourth individually in a time of 5:16.86.
Sophomore
Chenessa Davis recorded a second-place finish in the 60M Hurdles in a national qualifying time of 8.71. Freshman
Tahlia Lienert took fifth in a time of 9.12.
Davis also took seventh in the high jump with a leap of 4'8". Lienert and sophomore
Cordaelia Williams tied for 10th with a height of 4'8".
Sophomore
Bradie Medina posted a fifth place finish in the Pole Vault at a height of 10'9".
Freshman
Nele Goesl took fifth in the Triple Jump with a leap of 35'7".
Freshman
Nanhi Pannu finished sixth in the 600M Run, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:41.75.
Cloud County scored 90.5 points and finished 6.5 points behind first-place Barton. Evangel (52), Cowley College (40) and Crowder Community College (30) rounded out the top five.
The T-Birds next will take part in the Herm Wilson Invitational at the Heskett Center at Wichita State University on Friday, January 31, and at the Washburn Open & Multi at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1.
