The Cloud County Community College women's indoor track and field team concluded the opening weekend of the 2025 season with both sophomores N Vanee Anchike and Rafiatu Nuhu recording first-place finishes at the inaugural Thane Baker Invitational at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas on Saturday, January 18.

A day after setting a new school record in the women's 1,000M run at the Graduate Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, Anchike picked up right where she left off as she took home first place honors and set a national qualifying mark in the women's one mile run with a time of 4:59.96. Just behind her was sophomore Mercy Angaamchaab who finished in second place with a national qualifying time of 5:09.37. Also, freshman Amanda Kotambe was third in the event in a time of 5:30.83.

In the women's 600 yard run, Nuhu finished first overall with a national qualifying time of 1:21.04. Sophomore Nontokozo Ncube was just behind her in second place with a national qualifying time of 1:21.46. Sophomore Jaelyn Rumback finished sixth individually in a time of 1:39.06.

Nuhu and Ncube teamed with freshmen Maimuna Jallow and Tahlia Lienert on the T-Birds 4x400M Relay team that placed second overall with a national qualifying time of 3:50.29.

Lienert also placed second individually in the women's high jump with a leap of 4'9.5", and third in the women's 60M hurdles in a time of 9.12.
