Box Score The Cloud County Community College baseball team claimed a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) series sweep on Sunday, April 12 with a 16-9 win over Butler Community College at Lee Doyen Field in Concordia, Kansas.
Cloud County (37-4, 21-3) won its sixth KJCCC series by outscoring the Grizzlies 49-17 in the four-game series. The T-Birds hit .487 with 19 total hits in Sunday's win. Seven batters finished with two or more hits.
The 16 runs for Cloud County marked the program's 24th double-digit scoring game of the season, and the team's 15th double-digit performance in KJCCC play. The T-Birds scored two or more runs in four innings.
Freshman designated hitter
Kellan Burke led the T-Birds with three hits including a double, three runs scored and a team-high five RBI.Â
Freshman first baseman
Nolan Green added three hits with a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the third inning. Green finished with two runs scored and three runs batted in.
Redshirt freshman
Simon Baker tripled for his team-leading eighth time leading off a four-run fifth inning. Baker ended the game 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI.
Sophomore
Joey Marino had two hits with a double, two runs scored and one RBI.
Sophomores
Lucas Laukkanen and
Vasya Seymour both tallied two hits. Laukkanen and Seymour each had a double and scored one run apiece.
Sophomore third baseman
Kaden Budke scored two runs in the matchup.
Cloud County used four pitchers in the game, which was suspended in the bottom of the second inning on Saturday, April 11 due to weather. Sophomore
Cole Linton made the start on Saturday, pitching two innings and permitting two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts. Sophomore
Evan Bogart picked up where Linton left off on Sunday, throwing two innings where he allowed three runs on three hits with one strikeout.
Freshman
Gage Gannon earned his fourth win of the year out of the bullpen as he went 3.1 innings where he allowed three runs on three hits with two strikeouts. Sophomore
Kai Rempel closed the game, pitching the final 1.2 innings with one earned run allowed on one hit with one walk and one strikeout.
Cloud County will take on Coffeyville Community College in non-conference play on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 pm. The doubleheader will be played at Turnbull Field at Emporia State University. A year ago, the T-Birds defeated Coffeyvlle 13-0 in five innings in the 2025 NJCAA Region 6 Plains District Baseball Tournament.
