Students arriving at Concordia Elementary School on Wednesday, August 12 for the first day of school received a black-and-gold welcome from student-athletes at Cloud County Community College.

From 7:30 am to 8 am, Cloud County athletes and coaches helped greet students and their parents as they returned for the new school year. The group included members of the Cloud County volleyball, baseball, cross country, track and field, softball and men's basketball teams.

Helping to lead the group were recent Concordia High School graduates Baylen Arnold and Kynlee Hamel, members of the Cloud County volleyball team, and Rylie Jessup and Jadrian Riley, members of the Cloud County track and field teams.

The first-day event to welcome back students is a yearly effort to strengthen Cloud County's connection to Concordia Elementary School, which serves students from pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.
