Cloud County Community College sophomore thrower
Braylon Bittel has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, March 24.
Bittel won the discus at the Jayhawk Spring Fling hosted by the University of Kansas on Saturday, March 21. He had a personal-best toss of 148'11" to win the event.
Bittel also hit a national qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 172'10" to place third in the event. Bittel, a native of Plainville, Kansas, currently ranks fifth in the NJCAA in the discus and 12th in the javelin.
The T-Birds are back in action Saturday, March 28 when they compete at the Mark A. Phillips Invitational in Arkansas City, Kansas.
