The Cloud County Community College men's track and field team will compete in the 2025 Region 6/Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, beginning on Thursday, May 1 and concluding on Saturday, May 3 in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Cloud County enters this weekend's meet ranked No. 17 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Track & Field Rating Index.

Last weekend, Cloud County sent a partial squad to compete at the 2025 Alex Francis Classic, hosted by Fort Hays State University. At the meet, freshman Andrew Bowman captured a second place finish in the Men's Javelin Throw with a national qualifying throw of 177'8". Freshman Braylon Bittel finished in fourth place with a throw of 159'8", while freshman DJ Hollman followed in fifth place with a throw of 157'7".

Cloud County had four throwers finish in the top ten in the Men's Hammer Throw. Sophomore Josh Shelly led the way, placing third individually with a national qualifying throw of 165'6". Freshman Timothy Asa Berry placed seventh overall with a throw of 149'11". Sophomore Jaren Aurand followed in eighth place with a throw of 126'9", while Bittel was ninth individually with a throw of 125'7".

The T-Birds also had four place in the top ten in the Men's Discus. Sophomore Andre Smikle finished third overall with a toss of 155'0". Bittel placed fifth with a toss of 148'0". Berry followed in sixth place with a mark of 136'1", while Aurand finished in tenth place with a toss of 118'2".

Smikle also placed seventh individually in the Men's Shot Put with a toss of 42'6.25".

In their only field event of the meet, freshman Cody Sharp scored a second place finish in the Men's 110M Hurdles in a time of 18.71.

A small group of athletes also competed at the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kansas last weekend. Sophomore Ethan Ochana captured a fourth place finish in the Men's 1,500M Run in a time of 4:13.94. Freshman Gelasa Abdisa placed fifth individually in the 1,500M Run in a time of 4:15.48.

The 2025 Region 6/KJCCC Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin at 1:30 pm Thursday, May 1 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville, Kansas. Action will continue Friday, May 2 at 9 am, and Saturday, May 3 at 10 am. Live results are available courtesy of Black Squirrel Timing.
