Hilta Ramos and the T-Birds volleyball program have announced the addition of Gareth Luke to the staff. Luke will serve as an assistant coach, with primary responsibilities including coordinating recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, assisting in the planning and coaching of practices and conditioning programs, and assisting with the individual skill development of current/future student-athletes.
Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Luke has served as an assistant coach at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska since 2023. Luke has also served as a head coach for the Antelope Volleyball Club in Kearney, Nebraska, leading and managing multiple age-level teams, focusing on skill development, team cohesion, and overall player growth.
Luke spent two years under head coach Alex Allard at Hastings College. The Broncos finished the 2024 season with a 15-12 overall record and an 8-8 mark in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). During his tenure at Hastings, Luke guided two players to GPAC first team honors, four second team conference recipients, and four honorable mention selections.
Before his time in Hastings, Luke served as a volunteer assistant coach at Delaware State University where the Hornets went 26-5 and won a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season title.
Luke played collegiate men's volleyball for the Algonquin Wolves at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He earned an associate degree in Travel Management & Tourism Services from Algonquin in 2018. He later earned his bachelor of arts degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where he double majored in anthropology and history, and is currently pursuing a master of arts in teaching, specialization in history, from Hastings College.
