Box Score The Cloud County Community College baseball program staved off elimination in the 2025 NJCAA Region 6 Plains District Baseball Tournament at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina, Kansas on Wednesday, May 14. The T-Birds, the tournament's No. 3 seed, claimed a 7-3 victory over Fort Scott Community College.
Cloud County (45-16) next will matchup with the Coffeyville Red Ravens (35-19) in another elimination game. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm Thursday, May 15.
Cloud County earned its 45th win of the season on Wednesday, now one win shy of tying the program record of 46 wins set in 1989. The victory also marked the team's first win in the double-elimination bracket portion of the NJCAA Region 6 Plains District Baseball Tournament since 2022.
The T-Birds picked up the win behind seven strong innings from sophomore
Myles Chamberlain. Chamberlain, a native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, was lights out from the beginning, allowing no runs through 7.1 innings, marking his longest appearance on the mound this year and only the second time he pitched more than three innings in a contest this season. Chamberlain matched a season-high with five strikeouts after replacing sophomore starter
Caden Marcum in the bottom of the second inning. Marcum ended up pitching 1.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on two hits with three walks and one strikeout.
On the offensive front, Cloud County outhit Fort Scott, 12-7. Eight T-Birds recorded hits in the win, led by sophomore designated hitter
Eric Bradicich who went 3-for-4 at the plate with one run scored and four RBI.
After falling behind 3-0 by the middle of the second inning, Bradicich got Cloud County on the board with an RBI single to right field to score freshman
Kaden Budke. Freshman
Lucas Laukkanen and sophomore
Austin Coyle also added RBI hits in the bottom half of the second inning, tying the game at 3-all.
Cloud County never looked back from that point forward.
The T-Birds tallied three more runs in the third frame. Sophomore
Nolan Freund drew a lead-off walk. Sophomore
Noah Konings was then hit by a pitch to put two base runners on to start the inning. Freshman
Joey Marino capitalized as he singled through the left side of the infield to score Freund. After sophomore
Cam Macleod drew the second walk of the inning, Bradicich drove in both Marino and Konings on a double to right-center field, putting Cloud County up 6-3.
Bradicich added his final RBI hit in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring Budke for the second time in the game on a base-hit to left field.
Budke finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Konings played a pivotal role for the T-Birds' offense, going 3-for-3 with one run scored.
The T-Birds and Red Ravens will battle it out in another elimination game Thursday at Dean Evans Stadium. Coffeyville knocked off No.1 seed Barton Community College 11-2 in seven innings on Tuesday, before falling to No. 4 seed Cowley College 18-1 in five innings on Wednesday. Cloud County has won three of its last four meetings against Coffeyville, including an 8-4 victory last year when the two teams met up at the University of Central Oklahoma Juco Fest in Edmond, Oklahoma.
