A partial Cloud County Community College women's and men's track and field squad traveled to Salina, Kansas to compete in the 2025 Coyote Classic. The T-Birds produced three event wins as the Cloud County men finished ninth overall with 30 points, while the women's team finished 14th overall with ten points.
Sophomore
Margherita Sala had a big day as she won the Women's Hammer Throw with a throw of 148'03". Sala also notched a first place finish in the Women's Discus Throw with a toss of 113'01".
On the men's side, freshman
Bailey Burns won the Men's Long Jump with a national qualifying leap of 24'9".
Sophomore
Josh Shelly earned a first place finish in the Men's Hammer Throw with a throw of 172'8". Freshman Timothy
Asa Berry added a ninth place finish in the Men's Hammer Throw with a throw of 141'4".
The T-Birds had three top ten finishes in the Men's Javelin Throw. Freshman
Braylon Bittel scored a fourth place finish in the event with a throw of 174'9". Freshman
DJ Hollman was sixth overall in the Men's Javelin Throw with a throw of 157'5", while freshman
Cody Sharp was ninth individually with a throw of 154'02".
Freshman
Gelasa Abdisa added a seventh place finish in the Men's 5,000M Run in a time of 16:09.00.
The Cloud County track and field teams will head to Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday, April 26 for the Rock Chalk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas.
