The Cloud County Community College women's track and field team took home three first-place finishes and established three new school records at the 102nd Kansas Relays hosted by the University of Kansas.
The Cloud County 4x400M Relay team earned a first place finish in a new school record time of 3:38.84. Members of the team are freshman
Maimuna Jallow and
Nanhi Pannu and sophomores
Nontokozo Ncube and
Rafiatu Nuhu.
Jallow also added a new school record performance in the Women's 200M Dash, winning the race in a time of 23.35.
Nuhu captured a first place finish in the Women's 400M Run in a time of 52.85.
The Cloud County 4x800M Relay team set a new school record time of 8:58.44, finishing second place overall in the event. Team members are Ncube, sophomores
N Vanee Anchike and
Mercy Angaamchaab, and freshman
Amanda Kotambe.
The T-Birds had three top-five finishes in the Women's 800M Run. Ncube led the way, placing second individually with a time of 2:13.51. Angaamchaab followed in third place with a time of 2:15.07. Anchike placed fifth overall in a time of 2:16.45.
Anchike added a second place finish in the Women's 5,000M Run in a time of 17:51.05.
Cloud County also had three top-ten finishes in the Women's 100M Hurdles. Freshman
Tahlia Lienert placed fifth individually in a national qualifying time of 14.49. Pannu followed in sixth place with a time of 14.52. Sophomore
Chenessa Davis placed eighth individually with a time of 14.83.
In the Women's Javelin Throw, sophomore
Vivica Addison placed eighth individually with a throw of 133'1".
The Cloud County women's track and field team will be back in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday, April 26 to compete in the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted at Rock Chalk Park.
