Box Score 2 The Cloud County Community College baseball team wrapped up its four-game series against Pratt with a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, March 8 at Lee Doyen Field at the Concordia Sports Complex. The T-Birds took the first game 5-3 before earning a 6-1 win in the finale.
Cloud County has extended its current win streak to five games and has secured its first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference series win of the 2025 season. The T-Birds have also won eight straight and 10 of their last 11 meetings with Pratt.
Freshman infielder
Lucas Laukkanen launched a two-run go-ahead homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and give the T-Birds the 5-3 win in game one. The Cloud County offense collected seven hits in the win, including three extra-base hits. Sophomore
Austin Coyle had a triple and an RBI. Sophomore
Noah Konings added a double with an RBI. Sophomore catcher
Cam Macleod scored two runs, while Laukkanen, Konings and sophomore
Nolan Freund scored one run each.
Sophomore right-hander
Zach Sharshel improved to 2-1 on the season by picking up the win in relief action. Sharshel pitched one scoreless inning, giving up no hits while allowing one walk and recording one strikeout. Freshman
Stocton Timbrook pitched a scoreless sixth inning, while freshman
Sam Brummund earned his second save of the year.
In the second game, Coyle, Freund and freshman
Joey Marino all homered and the T-Birds tallied six runs on ten hits for the nine-inning victory. Coyle also delivered another triple in game two. Redshirt freshman
David Simmons added a triple of his own, while Freund and freshman
Kaden Budke each had a double.

Matthew Evans had one RBI each.
Freshman right-hander
Cole Linton earned the win, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six in five innings of work. Timbrook,
Noah Bourgeois,
Evan Bogart, and
Aaron Boutz pieced together four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, combining for six strikeouts.
With the series sweep, Cloud County has improved to 13-5 on the season and moves to 4-0 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play. The T-Birds will return to action on Tuesday, March 11 with a non-conference doubleheader against Kansas Wesleyan JV. First pitch is set for 2Â pm at Lee Doyen Field in Concordia.
