Led by three runners finishing in the top-10 to earn All-Region 6 distinction, the Cloud County Community College women's cross country team earned a third place finish at the 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 24 at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby, Kansas. Cloud County posted a score of 72 on their way to matching their third place team finish from last year's region championship race in Winfield, Kansas.
Sophomore
Nontokozo Ncube crossed the finish first for the T-Birds by placing fifth individually in the 5k race with a time of 18:39.34, earning her second All-Region honors.
Sophomore
Mercy Angaamchaab followed in seventh place in 18:44.01 and received All-Region honors for the second time.
Freshman
Maureen Jepchirchir placed ninth overall with a time of 19:25.83 and was named All-Region.
Freshman
McKenzie Baker claimed 23rd place with a time of 20:38.65. Sophomore
Rafiatu Nuhu was 30th with a time of 21:12.43, while freshman
Jade Williams finished in 61st place with a time of 23:44.22.
Hutchinson Community College won the 2025 NJCAA Region 6 team title. Hutchinson freshman Mildred Rono won the individual region title with a time of 17:10.69.
The T-Birds will return to action at the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Championships at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Saturday, November 8.
