The Cloud County Community College women's cross country team has moved up seven spots to No. 12 in the Week 4 edition of the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, which was released last week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This is the final set of rankings before the 2025 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, which will be held at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Saturday, November 8.
The jump into the top 15 comes after the Cloud County women's cross country team earned a third place team finish at the 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Cross Country Championships on October 24 at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby, Kansas. Cloud County posted a score of 72 and had three runners finish in the top-10 to earn All-Region 6 distinction.
Sophomore
Nontokozo Ncube crossed the finish first for the T-Birds by placing fifth individually in the 5k race with a time of 18:39.34, earning her second All-Region honors.
Sophomore
Mercy Angaamchaab followed in seventh place in 18:44.01 and received All-Region honors for the second time.
Freshman
Maureen Jepchirchir placed ninth overall with a time of 19:25.83 and was named All-Region.
Freshman
McKenzie Baker claimed 23rd place with a time of 20:38.65. Sophomore
Rafiatu Nuhu was 30th with a time of 21:12.43, while freshman
Jade Williams finished in 61st place with a time of 23:44.22.
The T-Birds now set their sights on the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Championships. The women's 5k race will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, November 8.
