CONCORDIA, Kan. – Three first half goals along with one second half goal would lead the Cloud County Community College women's soccer team to their 11th straight victory with a 4-1 home win over Pratt Community College at Harold M. Clark Stadium in Concordia, Kansas on Saturday, October 5th.

With a win streak now spanning five straight weeks, the T-Birds are 11-2-0 overall and 9-0-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while the Beavers fall to 2-12-0 and 1-8-0 in the KJCCC.

Making the most of their wind at their back in the first half, CCCC would blitz Pratt with 21 shots (12 on goal) in the first half as nine different T-Birds would put shots on goal. With the barrage forcing numerous saves from Pratt goalkeeper Haven Johannsen, Cloud County would manage to break through for their first goal of the game in the 13th minute with Gabriela Vargas sending a pass into the middle of the 18-yard box through traffic where Franciele Cupertino would blast a shot into the back of the net.

The goal would prove to open the gates as CCCC would take just 4:05 later to score their second goal with 28:15 remaining in the first half as Maria dos Anjos Acassia would take a 50-50 ball that would be misplayed by the Pratt goalkeeper and put it home to make the score 2-0 in favor of the T-Birds. A third goal coming from Fatima Leme with just over six minutes remaining before halftime would give Cloud County a 3-0 lead at intermission as things would be dominated by CCCC in the opening 45 minutes.

Possession would become more of a factor for Cloud County in the second half with the wind going against them as Pratt would get their opportunity to try and take advantage of a brisk breeze at their back. The Beavers would manage to put up five of their six shots in the match in the second half but would see the T-Birds score a goal in the 74th minute as Leme would take a deflected pass from Bruna Pereira off the keeper and dribble around into open space to score her second goal of the game. The Beavers would break up a shutout however as a free kick from 30 yards out with 6:37 left in the contest would find its way off the crossbar and into the back of the net in what would be Pratt's only goal of the game.

Final stats would see Cloud County put up 26 total shots while earning five corner kicks, with Cupertino leading all players with six shots. Thaynara Soares and Andrea Pioquinto would split time in net, combining for the win as each goalkeeper would play 45 minutes in net.

With just two weeks remaining in the regular-season, Cloud County will play just once next week with a 3:30 p.m. contest at Garden City on Wednesday, October 9th. GCCC is 1-11-0 and 1-7-0 with a Saturday night match at Hutchinson Community College still to be played prior to Wednesday's contest.
