Franciele Cupertino Named KJCCC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

CONCORDIA, Kan. - For the first time this season, Cloud County Community College sophomore midfielder Franciele Cupertino has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her performances during the week of October 14-21.

Cupertino's week saw the sophomore help Cloud County clinch an outright Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference West Division Title with a pair of wins over Barton and Hutchinson to close out the 2019 regular-season. Scoring the game-winning goal with 45 seconds left in the first half against Barton on Wednesday, Cupertino would follow up her performance by scoring the game-tying goal against Hutchinson Community College early in the second half and later assist on a goal that helped put the game away for the #18 T-Birds. Cloud County has now won 14 straight matches, and finished the KJCCC slate as the only unbeaten team in conference play from either division.

With the award, Cupertino joins Izabella Christina, Aroa Nieto, and Thaynara Soares as Cloud County women's soccer players to earn KJCCC Player of the Week honors this year.
