Concordia, KS- The Cloud County Men's soccer team was back in action on Friday as they hosted conference opponent Barton Community College. Cloud and Barton were picked to finish first and second respectively in the pre-season Jayhawk poll and both entered as unbeatens. The Cougars are coming off of a 14-2 season and second place finish in the league in 2015.

  It was scoreless first half as both teams defense controlled the game. It was not until the 60th minute that the scoreless tie was broken. Cloud's Aleksandar Pumpalovic just missed a shot but it was rebounded by Rafael Santos of Cloud County and he took his second chance shot and scored the eventual game winner.

Cloud defended their goal tacking on their second defensive shutout of the year. The T-Birds are now 3-0-1 on the season. Barton falls to 2-1.

Cloud County will resume play on Thursday, September 15th as they play host to the Broncbusters of Garden City Community College.
