Box Score Concordia, KS- Cloud County Men's Soccer was back in action on Thursday as they took on the Broncbusters of Garden City. Cloud earned a 3-1 win over the Broncbusters to improve to 4-0-1 on the season.
This was the second meeting already for two of the top teams in the Jayhawk. Just like in their previous meeting, the T-Birds used some late game heroics to earn the victory. Cloud got two late goals from Aleksander Pumpalovic to win 3-1.
The Broncbusters came out full of energy. Only five minutes had passed and they had scored their first and only goal. Cloud did not score in the first half. Fifteen minutes into the second half Cloud still trailed 1-0. That was until a pass from Cloud County's Rafael Santos connected with the head of Ryan Medilah and found the back of the net.
With just nineteen minutes remaining in regulation Aleksandar Pumpalovic got his chance at a penalty kick and he scored giving Cloud a 2-1 lead. Five minutes later Pumpalovic got another chance at a penalty kick and scored once again. Cloud held on to defeat the Busters for the second time this season.
Cloud County Men's Soccer will resume play on Sunday, September 18th as they host Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa at 3:00pm on the campus of Cloud County Community College.
