The Cloud County Thunderbird Soccer team picked up their 8th straight win with a 1-0 victory over the #18 ranked Barton County Cougars. Cloud improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the Jayhawk Conference.

Cloud entered the week in third place in the Jayhawk standings behind NJCAA #15 Pratt and Barton County. After giving Pratt their first conference loss on Tuesday, and picking up the win over Barton, Cloud has entered themselves into the mix for the Jayhawk Conference and Region VI title.  

Connor Halpin broke loose and scored in the 35th minute for what would be the winning goal for the T-Birds. Halpin was assisted by Leonardo Sosa and Kendy Pierre on the goal.

Defense was the key for the Thunderbirds. Cloud got strong performances once again from leaders Leonardo Sosa, Leonardo Catarina, and Saindou Ali. 

Goaltender Giulliano Crucci held the Cougars scoreless for his second shutout of the week. 

The T-Birds have currently played two more conference games than both Pratt and Barton. The T-Birds are currently 7-2, while Barton is 5-2 and Pratt is 6-1.

Cloud now enters an 11 day break before hosting Johnson County on October 26.
