Box Score 1

Jim Ross's Cloud County Soccer team knew this week would be crucial in their quest for a Kansas Jayhawk West Conference Championship. The T-Birds prepared heavily for a Pratt team that was leading the Jayhawk West with a 10-1 overall record and ranked #15 in NJCAA D1. Cloud travelled to Pratt on Tuesday and shut them out, winning by the score of 3-0.

The T-Birds have now rattled off seven straight victories. The first goal came midway throught the first half with Connor Halpin scoring, assisted by Leonardo Sosa. Sosa then scored before half to give the T-Birds a 2-0 lead at the midway point. Ajuma Johnson assisted on the goal. Cloud put the game on ice with one more second half goal. Leonardo Catarina scored on another assist from Johnson to give the T-Birds the 3-0 lead.

The 3-0 win was Cloud's fourth shutout on the season. The T-Birds goalie Giulliano Crucci and the backline for Cloud County were strong in the win, holding a high power Pratt team scoreless.

Cloud improves to 8-2 overall, 6-2 in the Jayhawk Conference. They sit in 2nd place, still trailing Pratt by just one game. Cloud has a chance to put space between them and 3rd place Barton on Thursday with a home matchup against the Cougars.
