Kevin Rule was hired as the assistant softball coach in September of 2021 at Cloud County Community College.
Rule comes to Concordia after serving two stints with Reedley College in the last ten years (2011-2015 & 2019-2021), a junior college based in the Central Valley of California.
While at Reedley, Kevin wore multiple hats for the Tigers, as he was the assistant coach/strength and conditioning coordinator for the softball team (2011-2014). Student-Athlete-Retention-Program (SARP) Coordinator (2012-2015) where he oversaw the study hall and retention of the entire athletic department. Lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the women’s basketball team (2014-2015 & 2019-2021). As well as adjunct physical education instructor (2019-2021).
Along with his duties at Reedley College, Rule taught physical education and was the head softball coach at Aspire Langston Hughes Academy in Stockton, California.
A native of Stockton, California, Kevin also has a career in journalism and broadcasting as he was a play-by-play announcer for the University of the Pacific and interned as an assistant in their sports information department.
Rule earned a bachelors in Broadcast Journalism from San Jose State University (2004) and a Masters in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University (2012).
Kevin and his wife Heather, a published author and playwright, reside in Concordia, with their two cats Fergie and Adele, and Henry the turtle.
