Nicholas Johnson is a returning sophomore member of the Cloud County Community College men's cross country and men's track and field teams. At last year's Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Cross Country Championships, he ran the 8k with a time of 28:12.91. Johnson also competed in his first NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in 2025 where he finished with a time of 29:25.8 in snowy, cold conditions in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This year, Johnson is one of four returning runners for the T-Bird men's cross country team that is ranked No. 18 in the preseason edition of the 2026 NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll.

I chose Cloud County for the opportunity to compete in cross country and track and field and to be pushed as a competitor in both practices and meets.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT ATTENDING SCHOOL AT CLOUD COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
I like that at Cloud County I get to compete with teammates from all over the world.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATION?
My current plan is to continue my education and athletic career at a four-year college, but I'm currently undecided on where I'd like to attend.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHER CLOUD COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS?
Go and meet new people. You never know who you're going to meet.
