The Cloud County Community College volleyball team will host Butler Community College on Saturday, September 26 at 2 pm. The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) match will stream live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

The T-Birds (7-7, 1-4 KJCCC) enter the weekend on a four-match losing streak, including losing 3-0 to No. 7 Colby Community Collge on September 19 before falling 3-0 to No. 14 Dodge City Community College on September 23.

Against Dodge City, freshman outside hitter Samira Bousri led the T-Birds with nine kills, four digs and an ace. Freshman outside hitter Karina Castellar added four kills and four digs, while freshman middle hitters Bella Ikard and Kynlee Hamel chipped in three kills each. Freshman setter Giulia Todesco provided 18 assists and six digs. Defensively, freshman libero Addison Allen had a team-high eight digs.

Cloud County is averaging 10.38 kills, 9.96 assists, 14.81 digs and 1.23 blocks per set. The T-Birds are holding opponents to a .182 hitting percentage.

Bousri leads the way offensively with 3.70 kills per set, which ranks fifth best in KJCCC Division I, while hitting .211. Bousri has 32 service aces on the season, the third most in KJCCC play. Bousri also adds 3.11 digs per set, which is tenth best in the conference.

Castellar ranks second on the team with 2.50 kills per set, while freshman outside hitter Dora Kuburovic adds 1.80 kills per set.

Hamel leads the T-Birds in hitting with an efficient .241 attack percentage.

Todesco continues to run the offense, averaging 8.81 assists per set, the second best mark in KJCCC Division I.

At the net, Ikard and sophomore middle hitter Julieanne Sandoval have combined for 45 total blocks on the season.

In the back row, sophomore libero Brooke Lougheed ranks third in the conference with 3.65 digs per set. Todesco provides 2.09 digs per set, while sophomore Addyson Ogle adds 1.75 digs per set.

Cloud County has lost five straight matches to Butler, dating back to 2023. The Grizzlies have won 10 of their last 11 meetings with the T-Birds. Cloud County's most recent home win over Butler was a four-set victory on August 30, 2023.

Butler (6-9, 1-5 KJCCC) has also lost four consecutive matches, with KJCCC losses to Garden City, Barton, Hutchinson and Seward County. Butler is led by sophomore outside hitter Harlee Randall, who is averaging 2.57 kills per set. Freshman outside hitter Catalina Olsina Ligero follows with 2.08 kills per set. Sophomore setter Georgia Cameron paces the offense with 7.09 assists per set. Defensively, sophomore defensive specialist Zuzanna Zalewska leads the way with 2.86 digs per set.
