The Cloud County Community College volleyball team returns home this week looking to regain momentum. The T-Birds will face No. 14 Dodge City Community College on Wednesday, September 23 at 6:30 pm, before hosting Butler Community College on Saturday, September 26 at 2 pm. Both matches will stream live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

Dodge City will mark the second consecutive ranked opponent Cloud County has faced, after the T-Birds battled through three sets but were swept on the road by the No. 8 Colby Trojans, 15-25, 21-25, 23-25, in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on September 19.

Cloud County was led in the loss by freshman outside hitter Karina Castellar who had six kills, four digs and a block. Freshman middle hitter Bella Ikard and freshman outside hitter Dora Kuburovic added five kills apiece. Ikard posted an .833 hitting percentage, while Kuburovic added three digs and a block. Freshman outside hitter Samira Bousri posted four kills and a team-best seven digs.

Freshman setter Giulia Todesco paced the T-Birds' offense with 20 assists to go with three digs, one kill and a block.

Defensively, sophomore libero Brooke Lougheed recorded six digs. Freshman defensive specialist Baylen Arnold added five digs.

Cloud County enters the week at 7-6 overall and 1-3 in KJCCC action. The team is averaging 10.58 kills, 10.14 assists, 15.10 digs and 1.28 blocks per set. The T-Birds are holding opponents to a .182 hitting percentage.

Cloud County has lost four straight matches to Dodge City. The Conquistadors swept the season series in both 2025 and 2024. The T-Birds won both regular season matches against Dodge City in 2023.

The Conquistadors, 16-5 on the season and 5-1 in KJCCC play, are ranked for the third straight week in the latest NJCAA Division I Volleyball Rankings. The team's current 16 wins already match last season's win total.

Dodge City is led by sophomore outside hitter Kayla Cantrill, who is averaging 2.89 kills per set. Freshman right side Anete Celnova follows with 2.84 kills per set. Sophomore middle blocker Dora Csanyi leads KJCCC Division I with a .338 hitting percentage.
