The Cloud County Community College volleyball team hits the road to begin a crucial stretch of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play, traveling to No. 8 Colby Community College on Saturday, September 19 at 2 pm, before squaring off with No. 10 Dodge City Community College on Wednesday, September 23 inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium.

The matchup with the Dodge City Conquistadors will stream live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

Cloud County (7-5, 1-2 KJCCC) fell to Seward County Community College in four-sets Monday, September 14, 18-25, 16-25, 25-19, 21-25. Freshman outside hitter Samira Bousri led the T-Birds with 13 kills, eight digs and two service aces. Freshman outside hitter Karina Castellar finished with 10 kills, two digs and a block. Freshman middle hitter Kynlee Hamel added six kills and two service aces. Freshman setter Giulia Todesco recorded 30 assists to go with five digs. Sophomore libero Brooke Lougheed and freshmen Addison Allen and Baylen Arnold each finished with four digs. Sophomore middle hitter Julieanne Sandoval added two blocks to go with three kills.

The No. 8 Colby Trojans (14-3, 5-0 KJCCC) are riding high as winners of nine in a row, sitting in sole possession of first place in KJCCC Division I. The Trojans opened the week with a five-set road win at Hutchinson on September 14, before sweeping Seward County on September 16. Offensively, the Trojans lead the conference in kills (864), kills per set (13.50) and assists (811).

Colby is led by sophomore outside hitter Ella Dridi, who ranks second in KJCCC with 254 kills (3.97 kills per set) and is hitting .268 so far. Sophomore outside hitter Lena Mihaljica also ranks in the top ten in the conference in kills per set (3.75). Freshman setter Priscilla Salas Moreno leads KJCCC with 659 assists (10.8 assists per set). Defensively, sophomore libero Anita Ferri ranks first in the conference in digs with 265 (4.14 digs per set), while Mihaljica is third in the conference with 222 digs (3.64 digs per set). Freshman middle blocker Marta Cherubini ranks third in KJCCC in total blocks (61).

Saturday's match will be streamed via Colby Community College Athletics.
