The Cloud County Community College volleyball team returns home for a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) matchup, hosting Seward County Community College on Monday, September 14 at 6:30 pm inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The match will stream live on the T-Bird Sports Network.

The T-Birds (7-4, 1-1 KJCCC) enter the match following a three-set road loss to Hutchinson Community College on September 9. Cloud County dropped the match by set scores of 16-25, 12-25, 22-25.

Cloud County was led offensively by freshman outside hitter Samira Bousri who had 11 kills on a .212 attack percentage. Bousri also posted a team-high 10 digs and one block. Bousri continues to drive the T-Birds' scoring attack, averaging 3.95 kills per set. She also ranks second on the team in digs per set (3.58).

Freshman outside hitter Karina Castellar landed eight kills, five digs and one service ace against the Blue Dragons. Castellar has appeared in seven matches this season and is averaging 2.69 kills per set.

Freshman setter Giulia Todesco tallied 19 assists, seven digs and a block at Hutchinson. Todesco has guided the Cloud County offense this season, averaging 9.3 assists per set.

In the back row, sophomore libero Brooke Lougheed had nine digs and one service ace against the Blue Dragons. Lougheed leads the T-Birds with 4.07 digs per set.

Sophomore defensive specialist Addyson Ogle finished with six digs and one service ace at Hutchinson. Ogle ranks fourth on the team at 2.02 digs per set.

At the net, freshman middle hitter Bella Ikard has 22 total blocks, while sophomore middle hitter Julieanne Sandoval has added 18 blocks of her own.

Cloud County has lost four straight matches against Seward County. The T-Birds swept the season series in 2023, including a four-set home win on September 20, 2023.

Seward County, led by acting head coach Jessie Jerome, is 7-11 overall and 0-2 in KJCCC play with losses to Hutchinson and Barton Community College. The Saints rank sixth in KJCCC Division I in hitting percentage (.162) and sixth in the conference in kills per set (10.23). Freshman outside hitter Luisa Bergantini leads the way with 3.83 kills per set, which ranks fifth in KJCCC Division I. Freshman setter Nóra Lehel ranks fifth in the conference with 6.98 assists per set.
