The Cloud County Community College volleyball team returns to Arley Bryant Gymnasium for its home opener Wednesday, August 26 against Bethany College JV at 6:30 pm. The match will be streamed live on the
T-Bird Sports Network.
Cloud County enters the home match at 3-1 overall following wins over Gillette College, Laramie County Community College and North Platte Community College at the 2026 North Platte Community College Tournament in North Platte, Nebraska August 21-22. The T-Birds earned their first victory of the season in four-sets over host North Platte, 25-22, 21-25, 25-15, 26-24. The following day, Cloud County captured two more wins, first defeating Laramie County Community College in four-sets, 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20. The T-Birds ended the tournament by winning a five-set thriller against Gillette College, 20-25, 25-18, 25-9, 22-25, 15-10.
Statistically, the T-Birds are hitting .148 as a team while holding opponents to .091. Freshman outside hitter
Samira Bousri leads Cloud County with 80 kills, an average of 4.71 kills per set. Bousri had a team-high 28 kills against Gillette College. Bousri also leads the team in digs (3.82 digs per set) and service aces with 13. Freshman outside hitter
Dora Kuburovic ranks second on the team in kills (2.06 kills per set) and digs (2.88 digs per set). Freshman setter
Giulia Todesco leads Cloud County with 155 assists (9.12 assists per set), while sophomore middle hitter
Julieanne Sandoval is the team-leader in blocks with 10.
Cloud County has won its last four meetings with Bethany College JV, dating back to 2012. The T-Birds have swept all four matches, including a 25-19, 25-12, 25-8 victory in their last meeting on October 24, 2022.
