The Cloud County Community College volleyball head coaching debut for Maria Aikins ended with three wins at the 2026 North Platte Community College Tournament in North Platte, Nebraska this weekend.

In the team's season opener on Friday, August 21, Cloud County fell 3-1 to McCook Community College, 25-20, 15-25, 12-25, 25-27.

The T-Birds earned their first victory of the season Friday in four-sets over host North Platte, 25-22, 21-25, 25-15, 26-24.

On Saturday, August 22, Cloud County captured two more wins, first defeating Laramie County Community College in four-sets, 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20.

The T-Birds ended the tournament by winning a five-set thriller against Gillette College, 20-25, 25-18, 25-9, 22-25, 15-10.

Cloud County will host their home opener on Wednesday, August 26 against Bethany College JV at 6:30 pm. That match will stream live on the T-Bird Sports Network.
