Cloud County Men's Basketball Team Earns Hard-Fought Road Win at Pratt, 69-67

Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team clawed its way to a gritty 69-67 road win over Pratt Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) action on Wednesday, February 18.

The T-Birds have now won back-to-back games to improve their record to 15-11 overall and 10-10 in KJCCC play. The win marks Cloud County's sixth straight win over Pratt, dating back to 2024.

Cloud County led for nearly the entire game, including by as many as 16 points in the second-half. Pratt began to rally, putting together a 26-10 run to tie the game at 64 with 4:07 remaining following a three-pointer by sophomore Galvin Luketa.

Cloud County freshman guard Kaidan Chatham scored off a Pratt turnover to keep the T-Birds in front. Freshman forward D'ontez Walker added a basket in the paint to put the T-Birds ahead 68-64 at the 2:32 mark.

Pratt pulled to within one at 68-67 on a jumper by freshman Scottie Guillory and a free-throw from redshirt sophomore Justin Robinson. 

Cloud County redshirt freshman Manasseh Stackhouse made one of two free-throws in the final seconds to put the T-Birds up two and lift Cloud County to its third win in its last four games.

Chatham and Walker led Cloud County with 19 points each. Both shot 8-of-11 from the field. Walker added seven rebounds, while Chatham finished with five.

Freshman guard Kam Williams scored 12 points. Stackhouse scored 10 points while grabbing five rebounds. Sophomore forward Elidjah Savane added six points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Guillory scored 19 points to lead Pratt. Freshman Seydina Faye and Luketa were also in double-digits with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

Pratt scored the first two points of the game on a bucket by freshman Kisean Robinson, before Cloud County scored eight unanswered to take control. The T-Birds grabbed its first double-digit advantage at 21-10 following a three-pointer by freshman guard K'mari Holt with 12:37 remaining in the first-half. Cloud County led by as many as 12 points after shooting 53.1 percent from the floor in the opening half. The T-Birds led 39-34 at halftime, but eventually the Beavers came back and evened the game.

Overall, Cloud County shot 28-of-58 (48.3 percent) from the field and 3-of-17 (17.6 percent) from three-point range. The T-Birds held the Beavers to 25-of-61 (41.0 percent) shooting from the field and 9-of-28 (32.1 percent) from behind the arc.

Cloud County returns to action Saturday, February 21 when it hosts Fort Hays Tech Northwest for Sophomore Day. Tip time is 4 pm and the game will be streamed live on the T-Bird Sports Network.
