Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team returned home on Saturday, February 14, defeating Hutchinson Community College 75-55 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play. Redshirt freshman forward Manasseh Stackhouse led four Cloud County players in double-figures with 18 points and 12 rebounds, registering his sixth double-double performance of the season. Sophomore guard DJ Holloway had 13 points, five rebounds and three steals, while freshmen D'ontez Walker and Kam Williams provided 10 points each.

With the victory, the T-Birds improve to 14-11 overall and 9-10 in KJCCC play. Hutchinson falls to 11-15 overall and 6-14 in KJCCC action.

Hutchinson scored the first five points of the game and led 11-10 at the under 12 minute media timeout. The T-Birds scored seven straight points out of the timeout, including five consecutive points from Williams, giving Cloud County a 17-11 advantage with 9:45 remaining in the first-half. Back-to-back dunks by Stackhouse and sophomore forward Elidjah Savane pushed the T-Birds' lead to nine points at 27-18 with 6:44 remaining. A Stackhouse trey, a Savane free-throw and a Williams jumper gave Cloud County a 33-18 advantage. The Blue Dragons cut the lead to nine points with just over a minute to play before halftime, but Cloud County capped the half with another Stackhouse three-pointer followed by a transition dunk by Stackhouse to put the T-Birds ahead 39-25 at the break.

Holloway added a fast-break dunk to extend the Cloud County lead to 28 points midway through the second-half. The T-Birds were never threatened down the stretch as they went on to close out the 75-55 win.

The win snapped Cloud County's six-game losing streak to Hutchinson, dating back to 2023. The victory also allowed the T-Birds to earn a split in the regular-season series with the Blue Dragons.

Sophomore guard Syncere Burnette scored seven points with a team-high 12 assists and six rebounds. Freshman guard Kaidan Chatham finished with six points. Savane had five points off the bench to go with six rebounds. Freshmen K'mari Holt and Will Otott scored three points each.

Cloud County will be back in action on Wednesday, February 18 when they travel to Pratt to face Pratt Community College in KJCCC play. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
