The Cloud County Community College volleyball team is back at home to take on Hutchinson Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Saturday, October 10 at 2 pm.

The T-Birds (8-9, 2-6 KJCCC) come into the matchup after dropping a five-set thriller to No. 17 Barton Community College on October 7. Cloud County secured the opening set, 25-19, and took the second frame, 25-21. Cloud County pushed Barton to the brink and put the Cougars in danger of being swept for just the second time this season in KJCCC play, but Barton escaped with a 30-28 win in set three in the longest set of the match. Barton took control of the fourth set, claiming a 25-19 win to extend the match to a deciding fifth set. The two teams were tied at 8-all before Barton held off the threat, finishing the set and match with a 15-10 wn.

Freshman middle hitter Karina Castellar led the T-Birds offensively with 18 kills on a .485 attack percentage. Freshman outsider hitter Samira Bousri followed with 16 kills and a team-high 28 digs for her tenth double-double performance of the season. Freshman outside hitter Dora Kuburovic recorded 14 kills and 21 digs, while freshman middle hitter Kynlee Hamel added a career-best nine kills on a .214 hitting percentage.
