After their road match at Pratt Community College was postponed due to facility issues in Pratt on Wednesday, September 30, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team will hit the road to take on Garden City Community College on Saturday, October 3 at 2 pm inside Conestoga Arena. The match will stream live on the
Southwest Kansas Sports Network.

Cloud County (7-8, 1-5 KJCCC) will be coming into the matchup after dropping a five set heartbreaker at home to Butler Community College in KJCCC play on September 26 inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium. Cloud County took the first two sets, 25-21, 25-18, but the Grizzlies evened things up with a 25-19 win in set three and a 25-16 victory in set four. The match came down to the fifth set which the Grizzlies took, 15-13.
Freshman outside hitters
Samira Bousri and
Dora Kuburovic both led Cloud County with 17 kills apiece. Bousri hit a team-best .297 and finished with 18 digs and two service aces, while Kuburovic added 10 digs, a career-high two blocks and two service aces.
Freshman outside hitter
Karina Castellar recorded four kills, five digs, one service ace and a block.
Freshman setter
Giulia Todesco handed out 38 assists and added 11 digs and a service ace.Â

Addison Allen tallied a career-high 13 digs, while sophomore libero
Brooke Lougheed finished with seven digs.

Garden City (4-13, 2-6 KJCCC) comes into the match following a four-set road loss to Seward County Community College on September 30 in KJCCC action. The Broncbusters have lost three straight after previously winning three matches in a row over Butler, Pratt and Lamar Community Colleges.
Earlier this season, Cloud Count snapped a 32-match conference losing streak by recording a three-set victory over the Broncbusters by set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-18. The win marked Cloud County's first home win over Garden City since October 11, 2021.
Castellar led the T-Birds with nine kills. Bousri was next in line with eight kills, 12 digs and a team-high six service aces. Freshman middle hitter
Bella Ikard had six kills on a .444 hitting percentage with two blocks. Kuburovic put up five kills on a .273 hitting percentage.
Cloud County also had four players register double-digit digs in the match, with sophomore libero
Brooke Lougheed notching a team-best 17. Sophomore defensive specialist
Addyson Ogle added 13 digs, while Todesco finished with 11 digs to go with her team-best 26 assists.
Cloud County is averaging 10.22 kills, 9.84 assists, 14.72 digs and 1.17 blocks per set. The T-Birds are holding opponents to a .135 hitting percentage.
Bousri leads the way offensively with 3.67 kills per set, which ranks fifth best in KJCCC Division I, while hitting .217. Bousri has 34 service aces on the season, the third most in KJCCC play. Bousri also adds 3.16 digs per set, which is tenth best in the conference.
Castellar ranks second on the team with 2.29 kills per set, while freshman outside hitter
Dora Kuburovic adds 1.98 kills per set.
Todesco continues to run the offense, averaging 8.71 assists per set, the second best mark in KJCCC Division I.
At the net, Ikard and sophomore middle hitter
Julieanne Sandoval have combined for 46 total blocks on the season.
In the back row, Lougheed ranks fourth in the conference with 3.45 digs per set. Todesco provides 2.10 digs per set, while Ogle adds 1.65 digs per set.
