Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team let a 17-point second-half lead slip away on Saturday, January 31 in a 103-95 road loss to No. 22 Dodge City Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play.
The T-Birds went ahead 58-41 on a pair of free-throws by freshman guard
Kaidan Chatham at the 18:59 mark of the second half, after leading 54-41 at the intermission. But Dodge City outscored Cloud County 62-41 over the game's final 20 minutes to pull out the victory.
Dodge City went on a 41-28 run in just over ten minutes of play, taking an 82-81 lead on a layup by freshman forward Justin Houston with 8:07 remaining. The T-Birds were unable to reclaim the advantage.
Dodge City shot 20-of-30 (66.7 percent) from the floor while also connecting on 20-of-25 (80.0 percent) foul shots in the second-half. Sophomore guard Ricky Loftin II led Dodge City with 28 points and nine rebounds. Sophomores Derrick Rivers and Richard Rojas each scored 25 points. Houston added 12 points.

DJ Holloway led Cloud County with a career-high 31 points, four rebounds and three steals. Holloway scored 21 of his game-high 31 points in the second-half. Holloway's 31 points are the most for a Cloud County men's basketball player since

Burnette, a sophomore guard, contributed 13 points, six rebounds and a team-high six assists against Dodge City. Freshman forward

Coming off a nine point loss at home against Cowley College on January 28, the T-Birds hit nearly 60 percent of their shots in the first-half with five three-pointers to lead by 13 points at the break. Dodge City, meanwhile, turned the ball over nine times and was outrebounded 21-13 in the opening half.
Cloud County has slipped to 12-10 overall and 7-9 in KJCCC play. The T-Birds return home on Saturday, February 7 to host Colby Community College. Colby suffered an 83-66 road loss to Cowley College on January 31 to fall to 5-17 overall and 3-13 in KJCCC play. Colby handed Cloud County a 75-70 road loss in their first matchup of the regular season on December 6, 2025. The game is scheduled to tip off at 4 pm at Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
