Box Score Five Cloud County players scored in double-figures as the T-Birds men's basketball team erased a double-digit deficit to outlast Barton Community College, 98-94 in overtime, on Monday, January 26 in Great Bend, Kansas.
Cloud County trailed by 22 points with 8:26 remaining, but cut the Barton lead to three following a triple by redshirt freshman

Samuel Akot in the right-side corner for a three-pointer to tie the game at 85-all with 20 seconds to play. Barton had an opportunity to win the game, but a three-point attempt by sophomore guard Aris Rodriguez missed at the end of regulation.
Cloud County grabbed a two-point lead early in overtime on a pair of free-throws by Stackhouse. Barton sophomore guard Jon Byrd scored on a traditional three-point play to put the Cougars ahead 88-87 with 3:29 to go. A layup by sophomore guard
Kuel Akot on the ensuing possession put the T-Birds back in front for good. Stackhouse then scored seven of the final nine points for Cloud County, including five points at the free-throw line, to secure the victory.
The win marked Cloud County's first victory at Barton since December 8, 2021.

DJ Holloway led Cloud County with 21 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists before ultimately fouling out of the game. Stackhouse scored 15 of his 19 points in the second-half and overtime for his 12th double-digit performance of the year. Stackhouse also had nine rebounds, five of them on the offensive end of the floor.
Kuel Akot finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

Elidjah Savane also finished in double-figures for the T-Birds, recording 14 points and 10 points, respectively. Sophomore guard
Syncere Burnette added nine points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and a team-best six assists.
Across all 45 minutes, both teams finished with 18 turnovers. The T-Birds profited the most from these chances, totaling 26 points off turnovers. Cloud County also won the rebounding duel, 52-37, leading to 24 second-chance points compared to just 10 for Barton. Cloud County shot 29-of-73 (39.7 percent) from the floor and 6-of-21 (28.6 percent) from behind the arc. The T-Birds ended up 34-of-45 (75.6 percent) from the foul line, marking the team's most made free-throws in a game this season.
Kuel Akot was a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe, while Holloway and Stackhouse also connected on eight free-throws each.
Cloud County (12-8, 7-7 KJCCC) returns to Arley Bryant Gymnasium to host Cowley College on Wednesday, January 28 at 8 pm.
