The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team continues Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) action when it plays host to No. 19 Butler Community College on Wednesday, January 14. Tip from Arley Bryant Gymnasium will be at 8 pm and the game will be streamed live on the
T-Bird Sports Network with Spencer Farha on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on
NCK 94.9, with Austin McNorton calling the action.
Cloud County (9-7, 4-6 KJCCC) is coming off an 87-85 road win over Garden City Community College in KJCCC play on January 10. Four T-Birds finished in double-figures and Cloud County scored 58 points in the paint on their way to winning their third straight since returning to action from the Christmas holiday break.
The Butler Grizzlies (11-5, 7-3 KJCCC) moved into first place in the KJCCC standings after knocking off No. 19 Dodge City, 121-119 in overtime, on January 10.
Cloud County and Butler split their regular season series last year, with both teams winning on their own home floor. In their most recent meeting, five players scored in double-figures to lead the T-Birds to an 86-83 home win over Butler on March 1, 2025.
Cloud County's current three-game winning streak is the team's second-longest of the season. The T-Birds previously won five in a row from November 7 through November 19.
Cloud County averages 87.2 points per game and has a +9.4 scoring margin. The T-Birds pull down 43.5 rebounds per contest with a +9.5 rebound margin. Cloud County is making 46.1 percent from the field, including 29.6 percent from three-point range. The T-Birds also average 13.4 assists, 10.4 steals and 3.3 blocked shots per game.
Redshirt freshman forward
Manasseh Stackhouse has been named the KJCCC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, January 13. Stackhouse averaged a double-double in the T-Birds road victories at Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Garden City Community College last week. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 25.0 points on 59.5 percent shooting and 11.0 rebounds per game. The Zion, Illinois native posted a season-high 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field, including knocking down three treys, in the team's 92-73 win at Fort Hays Tech Northwest. Stackhouse added 10 rebounds. He then tallied a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds in the team's 87-85 victory at Garden City. Stackhouse now has three double-double performances in the team's last four games. Stackhouse leads Cloud County with 12.7 points per game. He has scored in double-figures nine times this season. Stackhouse also leads Cloud County with 7.0 rebounds per outing.
Sophomore guard
Kuel Akot drilled four three-pointers to finish with a season-high 21 points against Garden City. He also added four steals. Akot scores 8.3 points per contest and leads the T-Birds with 29 made three-pointers.
Freshman forward
D'ontez Walker registered 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go with five rebounds and three assists in the game at Garden City. Walker is averaging 10.8 points per game on 58.5 percent shooting from the floor. He also pulls down 4.4 rebounds per game.
Sophomore forward
Elidjah Savane came off the bench to score 10 points and pull down five rebounds against Garden City. Savane is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game on a team-best 59.5 percent shooting from the field. Savane's 6.3 rebounds per game are second on the team.
Sophomore guard
Syncere Burnette leads Cloud County with 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Burnette is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.9 points per game with 20 made three-pointers.
Sophomore guard
DJ Holloway has made 14 starts this season. Holloway is averaging 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

Following the game against Butler, Cloud County will complete its two-game homestand when the T-Birds welcome Independence Community College to Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
