The Cloud County Community College volleyball team returns to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play with a 6:30 pm match against the Dodge City Conquistadors on Wednesday, September 24 at the Student Activity Center in Dodge City, Kansas.

The match will be streamed by Conq TV.

Cloud County is 5-14 on the year and has lost three straight matches, including dropping a four-set decision to visiting Kansas Wesleyan University JV, 22-25, 25-23, 16-25, 17-25, in a non-conference match on Monday, September 22 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia. Sophomore outside hitter Grace Rowland led the T-Birds in kills with 14 on a .229 attack percentage. Freshman middle hitter Zoey Sudbeck added eight kills on a .333 attack percentage with four blocks. Sophomore pin hitter Iza Caroline da Silva had seven kills. Freshman setter Ylvie Schmid posted 29 assists and four digs, while redshirt freshman Addyson Ogle added five assists. Sophomore libero Beatrice Giusti led the T-Birds with 16 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Reachert Chiquin had 12 digs and two service aces. Sophomore Berkleigh Curtis recorded eight digs, while freshman Brooke Lougheed added six digs and two service aces.

The Coyotes handed the T-Birds its third home loss of the season, as the T-Birds slip to 3-3 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The loss snapped Cloud County's eight match winning streak against Kansas Wesleyan. The victory marked the Coyotes' first win over the T-Birds since September 2012.

Rowland leads Cloud County with 176 kills, an average of 2.79 kills per set. Rowland is also second on the team in digs with 147, an average of 2.33 digs per set.

Sophomore pin hitter Carlie Carlgren is second on the team in kills with 106, an average of 2.08 kills per set.

Schuster is off to a strong start in her first year as a T-Bird with 94 kills on a .283 attack percentage with a team-high 38 blocks. Schuster also leads the team in service aces with 22.

Schmid paces the T-Birds attack with 6.52 assists per set. Ogle leads the team in assists with 213, an average of 4.63 assists per set. Ogle also ranks second on the team in service aces (19) and fifth on the team in digs (85).

Giusti leads the Cloud County back row with 200 digs, an average of 3.57 digs per set. Lougheed has 134 digs on the year, an average of 2.91 digs per set, while Curtis has 115 total digs, an average of 1.80 digs per set.

Dodge City is off to an 8-9 start and is currently 2-3 in KJCCC play. The Conquistadors have lost three straight conference matches to Barton, Colby and Garden City.

The Conquistadors are led by freshman outside hitter Kayla Cantrill, who is putting up 2.75 kills per set on a .166 attack percentage. Freshman setter Chelsea Durbridge is averaging 9.02 assists per set, while freshman libero Mali Towers leads the team with 2.29 digs per set.

Dodge City won both meetings against Cloud County in 2024, including a 3-0 sweep in Dodge City on October 12, 2024.
