Box Score The Cloud County Community College volleyball team fell in four sets to Hutchinson Community College on Wednesday, September 17 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium in Concordia. The Blue Dragons won 23-25, 25-19, 16-25, 12-25. The victory marked the 19th consecutive win for Hutchinson in the series.
Sophomore outside hitter
Grace Rowland led the T-Birds offensively with 11 kills. Sophomore
Iza Caroline da Silva followed with nine kills. Freshman
Elizabeth Schuster also tallied nine kills on a .400 attack percentage with three blocks, while sophomore
Carlie Carlgren added eight kills. Redshirt freshman setter
Addyson Ogle contributed 34 assists and four digs. Sophomore libero
Beatrice Giusti added 17 digs, while sophomores
Reachert Chiquin and
Berkleigh Curtis tallied eight digs and six digs, respectively.
Cloud County has dropped to 5-12 overall and 0-3 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play, while Hutchinson has improved to 6-6 on the season and 2-2 in KJCCC action.
The T-Birds return to action Saturday, September 20 when they head to Liberal, Kansas to face the Seward County Community College Saints at 3 pm.
Seward County heads into the weekend contest at 4-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Saints picked up their lone conference win of the season on September 3 in a five-set home win over Butler Community College but have lost six straight matches since, including a four-set road loss to Garden City Community College on September 17.
Cloud County and Seward County have split their last four matchups with the Saints winning both matches in 2024 by four sets each. Saturday's match will be streamed live on the
