                    Box Score The Cloud County Community College volleyball team narrowly fell to Neosho County Community College in non-conference play on Monday, September 1, falling in five sets, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 17-25, 13-15.
Cloud County falls to 4-7 on the year with the loss, while Neosho County improves to 5-1.
Sophomore outside hitter 
Grace Rowland was the lone T-Bird with double-digit kills. Rowland led the way with a career-high 23 kills on a .305 attack percentage to go with a career-high 25 digs and four blocks. The match marked Rowland's fourth match in her career with 20 or more kills. Sophomore 
Carlie Carlgren and freshman 
Zoey Sudbeck followed with eight kills apiece. Freshmen 
Kenadie Casanova and 
Elizabeth Schuster were close behind with six kills each. Sudbeck and Schuster joined Rowland in collecting four blocks each.
Freshman setter 
Brooke Lougheed served up a team-high 38 assists to go along with 20 digs.
Defensively, sophomore libero 
Beatrice Giusti had 24 digs. Casanova and redshirt freshman 
Addyson Ogle added 10 digs each.
The T-Birds will open Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Saturday, September 6 when they travel to Colby, Kansas to face No. 3 Colby Community College. First serve is scheduled for 2 pm from the Colby Event Center.
Last season, Colby ended with an impressive 29-5 overall record and a 14-2 mark in KJCCC play, capping off the year by earning a third-place finish at the 2024 NJCAA Division I Volleyball National Championships. This year, the Trojans are out to a 6-2 start and will host Garden City Community College on Wednesday, September 3 in conference play, prior to their home contest with Cloud County.
