Box Score 2 The Cloud County Community College volleyball team earned its first win of the season with a four-set victory over Dallas College Mountain View as part of a split day at the 2025 Wrangler Ranger Round Up in Cisco, Texas. The T-Birds dropped their final match of the day in straight sets to No. 20 Blinn College.
Cloud County earned their first win of the 2025 season with a four-set victory over the Dallas College Mountain View Lions in their match Saturday, August 23. The T-Birds squandered a lead in the first set, falling 22-25, but rolled through the next three sets to close it out in four, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23. Sophomore outside hitter
Grace Rowland led the way with 14 kills. Freshman middle hitter
Zoey Sudbeck followed with seven kills. Redshirt freshman middle hitter
Julieanne Sandoval had six kills on a team-best .455 attack percentage, while freshman middle hitter
Elizabeth Schuster also tallied a .455 hitting percentage with five total kills. Freshman setter
Ylvie Schmid handed out a team-high 31 assists to go with four service aces. Sophomore libero
Beatrice Giusti logged a team-high 11 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist
Berkleigh Curtis added six digs.
The T-Birds came out with plenty of energy in the early going against Blinn before the Buccaneers were able to take the first set, 25-19. Blinn's offense then began firing on all cylinders, hitting .291 as a team as they won the second set, 25-14, and the final set, 25-9. Cloud County finished the match with 18 hitting errors and nine reception errors. Rowland again led the way with seven kills and five digs. Schuster added four kills and a block. Schmid and freshman pin hitter
Kenadie Casanova had three kills each. Schmid also had a team-high six digs.
Cloud County returns to action Wednesday, August 27 for a home triangular with Southeast Community College and McPherson College JV. The T-Birds will face the Southeast Bobcats at 2 pm, before squaring off with McPherson College JV at 6 pm. Live coverage of both matches will be available on the
