Three T-Birds Earn Men's Basketball All-Conference Honors

Elidjah Savane, Syncere Burnette and Matthew Garber - 2025 All-KJCCC Postseason Honors

The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced its postseason awards for men's basketball on Wednesday, March 19, as three Cloud County Community College student-athletes earned honors in a vote of the conference's coaches.

Elidjah Savane, a freshman forward from Nanterre, France, earned a spot on the All-KJCCC Second Team. Savane led Cloud County in scoring at 16.8 points per game on 55.0 percent shooting to go with a team-high 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Savane had 13 double-double performances and ranked in the top-10 in the conference in total points, points per game, field-goals made, field-goal percentage, free-throws made, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, total rebounds, rebounds per game, and blocked shots.

Freshman guard Syncere Burnette was named Honorable Mention All-KJCCC. Burnette, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, averaged 12.3 points per game on 44.3 percent shooting and a team-best 45.2 percent mark from three-point range. Burnette also led the team at 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Burnette started 21 of 31 games this year and scored a season-high 31 points in the team's Region 6 Tournament quarterfinal game at No. 14 Barton on March 11, 2025. Burnette ranked second in the conference in three-point percentage and seventh in the conference in total steals with 49.

Redshirt freshman three-point specialist Matthew Garber was named Honorable Mention All-KJCCC this season. Garber, a guard from Sabetha, Kansas, averaged 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Garber appeared in and started all 31 games for Cloud County and ranked eighth in the conference in three-point field-goals with 69. Garber had a season-high six treys and finished with 22 points and seven rebounds in the team's 101-90 road victory at Dodge City on November 23, 2024.

Marcus Whitlock, Jr. from Cowley College was voted All-KJCCC Division I Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Eternity Eguagie of Colby was voted Freshman of the Year, while Emeka Opurum of Butler won Defensive Player of the Year. Donnie Jackson of Cowley College was named Coach of the Year.
