The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team hosts No. 22 Coffeyville Community College on Wednesday, December 10 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) action. The contest from Arley Bryant Gymnasium will start at 8 pm and will be streamed live on the
T-Bird Sports Network with Spencer Farha calling the action. Fans can also listen to the game on
NCK 94.9, with Austin McNorton calling the action.
Cloud County is 6-5 on the year and 1-4 in KJCCC play following a 75-70 road loss to Colby Community College on December 6. Despite trailing by as many as 12 points in the second-half, Cloud County clawed its way back to take a 63-62 lead with 3:15 remaining. The two teams traded baskets before Colby rattled off seven-straight points to grab a 71-65 lead with 35 seconds remaining and then closed out the game at the free-throw line.
Sophomore forward
Elidjah Savane and freshman guard
Kaidan Chatham scored 18 points each to lead the way for Cloud County. Savane shot 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line while collecting a team-high nine rebounds. Chatham earned his first start of the season and scored 18 points with an impressive 9-of-13 showing from the free-throw line. Chatham added five rebounds. Joining them in double-figures was freshman forward
D'ontez Walker with 10 points and five rebounds. Sophomore
Samuel Akot scored six points, while sophomores
Kuel Akot and
DJ Holloway had five points apiece.
Coffeyville has lost back-to-back games to ranked opponents Cowley College and Dodge City Community College. The Red Ravens are 8-3 overall and 3-3 in KJCCC play under hall of fame head coach Jay Herkelman. Herkelman is the winningest coach in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and Region 6 history with 774 career coaching victories. Herkelman has been named Region 6 Coach of the Year eight times.

Manasseh Stackhouse is next in scoring at 11.9 points per contest on 53.0 percent shooting from the floor and pulls down 6.9 rebounds per contest.
Savane is averaging 11.6 points per game on 58.5 percent shooting. Savane is third on the team in rebounding at 6.4 rebounds per game.
Walker is scoring 11.5 points per game on a team-leading 62.5 percent shooting from the field. Walker pulls down 5.0 rebounds per game.
Sophomore guard
Syncere Burnette scores 8.5 points per game with 16 made three-pointers on the season. Burnette leads the team with 3.1 assists per game and is second on the team with 1.2 steals per contest.
Kuel Akot is averaging 7.6 points per contest with a team-best 18 made three-pointers on the year. Akot is also averaging 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
