The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team will visit Hutchinson Community College on Saturday, December 13 in their final game before the Christmas holiday break.

Tip-off is slated for 4 pm inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena and will be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network. Fans can also listen to the game on 1390 KNCK and 98.3 FM, with Austin McNorton calling the action.

Cloud County (6-6, 1-5 KJCCC) has lost five straight games all by single digits. Most recently, the T-Birds fell victim to a late-game scoring drought in a 72-68 home loss to No. 22 Coffeyville Community College on December 10. Cloud County was outscored 11-0 over the final three minutes. The T-Birds had led by as many as ten points in the game, which featured four ties and 13 lead changes.

Sophomore guard DJ Holloway led Cloud County in scoring with 22 points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Elidjah Savane and freshman forward D'ontez Walker had 12 points each. Savane grabbed seven rebounds, while Walker had three rebounds and three steals. Sophomore guard Kuel Akot added 10 points with two made three-pointers.

Hutchinson comes into Saturday's game at 8-5 on the season and 3-4 in KJCCC play. The Blue Dragons have won two of their last three games following a 58-57 road win over then-No. 15 Barton Community College, and an 82-66 road win over No. 21 Dodge City Community College. Hutchinson has won five consecutive meetings with Cloud County, including recording a 98-73 win over the T-Birds in Hutchinson in their most recent meeting on February 15, 2025.

The T-Birds average 88.3 points per game and have a +11.0 scoring margin. Cloud County pulls down 45.2 rebounds per contest with a +11.9 rebound margin. Cloud County is making 45.8 percent from the field, including 28.7 percent from three-point range. The T-Birds are holding opponents to 78.2 points per game on 42.1 percent shooting, including 30.5 percent from behind the arc. Cloud County also averages 12.8 assists, 10.7 steals, and 3.3 blocked shots per game.

Freshman forward Al Brooks Jr. has missed the last three games for Cloud County. The 6-foot-7 forward from Chicago, Illinois leads Cloud County in scoring at 19.1 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game. Brooks is second in the KJCCC in scoring and first in rebounds per game. Brooks also leads Cloud County at 1.9 blocks per game.

Freshman forward Elidjah Savane has scored in double-digits eight times this season, including in three straight contests. Savane is averaging 11.7 points per game on 58.2 percent shooting. Savane ranks third on the team in rebounding at 6.4 rebounds per game.

Freshman forward D'ontez Walker is scoring 11.5 points per game on a team-leading 59.1 percent shooting from the field. Walker pulls down 4.8 rebounds per game.

Redshirt freshman forward Manasseh Stackhouse is next in scoring at 11.4 points per contest on 51.4 percent shooting from the floor and pulls down 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Sophomore guard Syncere Burnette scores 8.5 points per game with 16 made three-pointers on the season. Burnette leads the team with 3.1 assists per game and is second on the team with 1.2 steals per contest.

Kuel Akot is averaging 7.8 points per contest with a team-best 20 made three-pointers on the year. Akot is also averaging 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Holloway is scoring 6.6 points per game while adding 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a team-high 1.6 steals per game.

Other Cloud County regulars include sophomore wing Samuel Akot (6.4 points per game), freshman guard Kaidan Chatham (6.3 points per game), freshman guard Kam Williams (5.9 points per game), and freshman guard Ikee Brooks (1.5 points per game).

The contest against Hutchinson marks the final game for Cloud County before the Christmas holiday break. The T-Birds will return to action on Saturday, January 3 when they host Pratt Community College. The game from Arley Bryant Gymnasium will begin at 4 pm and will be streamed live on the T-Bird Sports Network.
