Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team controlled the glass and was active defensively in an 81-66 win over State Fair Community College on Friday, November 7 on the opening day of the 2025 Midwest JUCO Classic in West Burlington, Iowa.
The T-Birds (2-1) had six players in double-figures in the victory, led by freshman forward
Al Brooks Jr. who had 23 points and 16 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double of the season. Sophomore guard
Kuel Akot had 13 points, while freshman
D'ontez Walker had 11 points and six rebounds. Sophomores
Syncere Burnette and
Elidjah Savane and redshirt freshman
Manasseh Stackhouse each had 10 points. Stackhouse also added 10 rebounds.
It was the first time Cloud County had six players in double-figures since a 110-66 win over Independence Community College on February 17, 2024.
Sophomore guard
DJ Holloway was the only other T-Bird to score in the contest. Holloway finished with four points to go with five rebounds and three assists.
Cloud County would make 29-of-76 (38.2 percent) of its shots from the field, including just 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) from behind the arc. The T-Birds led 37-27 at the break, but were able to pull away in the second half by forcing 17 turnovers and outrebounding State Fair, 52-39. The Roadrunners were held to 35.9 percent shooting for the game, including 6-of-16 (37.5 percent) from three-point range.
As a team, the T-Birds had eight steals and five blocks.
Cloud County returns to action at the Midwest JUCO Classic on Saturday, November 8, facing Missouri State University - West Plains. Tip-off is set for 12 pm.
