The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team will clash with State Fair Community College on the first day of the 2025 Midwest JUCO Classic at Loren Walker Arena in West Burlington, Iowa on Friday, November 7. Tipoff is slated for 3 pm.
The T-Birds and Roadrunners last met on November 4, 2023 with Cloud County earning a 75-41 win at the McDonald's Classic in Sedalia, Missouri.Â
This weekend's Midwest JUCO Classic marks Cloud County's second consecutive weekend in the Hawkeye State. Cloud County went 1-1 at the Meridian Credit Union Classic in Ottumwa, Iowa last week. The T-Birds opened its 2025-2026 season with a dominant 116-64 victory over William Penn University JV on October 31, before running into a hot-shooting, nationally-ranked Indian Hills Community College team in a 94-80 loss on November 1.
Freshman forward
Al Brooks Jr. recorded back-to-back double-doubles to begin the season. Brooks finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 16 minutes of action against William Penn University JV, before tallying 26 points and 12 rebounds in the game against Indian Hills.
Thirteen different players scored for the T-Birds against William Penn University JV, including five players reaching double figures, with
Kam Williams,
Manasseh Stackhouse,
Ikee Brooks and
D'ontez Walker chipping in 16, 15, 10 and 10, respectively.
Sophomore forward
Elidjah Savane finished in double-figures against Indian Hills, collecting 15 points and eight rebounds. Walker was also in double-figures with 11 points.
State Fair Community College is 2-1 to begin the 2025-2026 season. The Roadrunners split two contests in this year's McDonald's Classic, dropping their season opener 78-71 to Hutchinson Community College, before bouncing back by taking down Central Methodist University JV by a final score of 124-63. On November 4, State Fair earned its second consecutive win after erasing a 17-point first-half deficit to emerge with a 78-69 home victory over Olney Central College.
The Roadrunners are led by sophomore forward Malick Ndiaye, who is averaging 11.7 points per game on 52 percent shooting to go with 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Sophomore forward Daniel Garza is also averaging 11.7 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Ibraheem Sylla adds 11.0 points and a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game.
Following their game on Friday, the T-Birds will close out the Midwest JUCO Classic against Missouri State University - West Plains (1-2) on Saturday, November 8. The game from Loren Walker Arena will start at 12 pm.
