Cloud County Men's Basketball Team to Host No. 17 Barton on Saturday

The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team continues Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Saturday, November 22 when they host No. 17 Barton Community College at 4 pm. The game will be played inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium and will be streamed live on the T-Bird Sports Network. Fans can also listen to the game on NCK 94.9, with Austin McNorton calling the action.

Cloud County (6-1, 1-0) is coming off an 85-65 victory over Seward County Community College in its KJCCC opener on November 19. Barton improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in KJCCC action following an 85-78 home win over Dodge City Community College on November 19.

The Cougars have won six straight games against the T-Birds, dating back to 2023. Cloud County's last home win in the series came on December 7, 2022 when the T-Birds knocked off another nationally-ranked Cougars team, 68-57.

This season, Cloud County averages 96.9 points per game and has a +20.1 scoring margin. The T-Birds pull down 46.3 rebounds per contest with a +14.0 rebound margin. Cloud County ranks third in the KJCCC in scoring, leads the conference in rebounding, and ranks second in team field-goal percentage, making 50.4 percent from the field. The T-Birds also average 16.0 assists, 12.6 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game.

Freshman forward Al Brooks Jr. leads Cloud County in scoring at 20.4 points per game on 57.4 percent shooting and leads the team and the conference in rebounding at 10.1 rebounds per game. Brooks has four double-doubles on the season and has scored in double-digits in six of the team's seven games this season.

Redshirt freshman forward Manasseh Stackhouse is averaging 13.4 points per game on 53.4 percent shooting. Stackhouse led Cloud County against Seward County with 18 points on 6-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. He also chipped in a team-high seven rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots.

Sophomore forward Elidjah Savane is averaging 12.4 points per game on a team-best 73.3 percent shooting from the field. Savane ranks third in the conference in field-goal percentage. A returning All-KJCCC Second-Team selection, Savane tallied 15 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots in the win over Seward County.

Freshman forward D'ontez Walker is scoring 11.0 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting. Walker was in double-figures for the sixth time this season with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting to go with five rebounds in the team's win over Seward County. Walker is averaging 5.4 rebounds per game.

Sophomore guard Syncere Burnette is averaging 9.7 points per game with 13 made three-pointers. He also leads the team with 4.0 assists per game.

Sophomore guard Kuel Akot is first on the team with 15 made three-pointers. Akot is scoring 8.4 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from behind the arc.
