Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Indian Hills Community College team in a 94-80 loss in the Meridian Credit Union Classic at the Hellyer Center in Ottumwa, Iowa on Saturday, November 1.

Freshman Al Brooks Jr. led the T-Birds with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Elidjah Savane added 15 points and eight rebounds. Freshman D'ontez Walker was also in double-figures with 11 points.

The game was tight early before Indian Hills went on a 12-1 run to grab a double-digit advantage at 18-7 with 12:45 remaining in the first-half. The Warriors maintained a double-digit lead through the rest of the first-half, leading by as many as 21 points at two separate intervals, including holding a 54-33 lead at the break.

Indian Hills extended its lead to 29 points midway through the second-half and were not threatened the rest of the way. The T-Birds did score 20 points over the final four minutes to cut the deficit to 14, the closest they would get to the Warriors over the final 20 minutes of play.

Indian Hills finished the contest shooting 32-of-58 (55.2 percent) from the field, 8-of-19 (42.1 percent) from three-point range, and 22-of-29 (75.9 percent) from the foul line. Cloud County ended the game shooting 26-of-71 (36.6 percent) from the floor, hitting on just 4-of-22 (18.2 percent) from behind the arc. The T-Birds did connect on 24-of-37 (64.9 percent) foul shots.

The T-Birds outrebounded the Warriors 48-37 and held a 24-7 advantage in second-chance points. 

Cloud County is back in the Hawkeye State for a pair of games next week in the 2025 Midwest JUCO Classic, hosted by Southwestern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. The T-Birds will face State Fair Community College on November 7 at 3 pm, and Missouri State University - West Plains on November 8 at 12 pm.
