Despite resilient defense and strong energy, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team fell to No. 11 Colby Community College in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play on Wednesday, October 8 at Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The Trojans claimed the victory by set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-11.
The loss marks Cloud County's fifth loss to a ranked opponent this season. The T-Birds dropped to 6-19 overall and 0-9 in KJCCC action with the loss, while Colby improves to 18-4 on the year and 10-0 in KJCCC play.

Cloud County concludes a six-match homestand on Saturday, October 11 when they host Garden City Community College in KJCCC play. Garden City is 8-10 overall and 5-4 in conference action. The Broncbusters are coming off a week layoff after recently suffering a five-set home loss to Colby on October 4.
Earlier this season, the T-Birds dropped a match in straight sets at Garden City, 10-25, 15-25, 14-25, on September 10. Carlgren led the T-Birds with five kills in the match. Redshirt freshman setter
