The Cloud County Community College volleyball team concludes their six-match homestand this weekend with a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) contest against Garden City Community College. The match is set for Saturday, October 11 at 3 pm at Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
The T-Birds are looking to avoid losing consecutive home matches after they fell in three-sets to No. 11 Colby Community College in KJCCC play on October 8 by set scores of 22-25, 17-25, 11-25. The loss marked Cloud County's fifth loss to a ranked opponent this season. Sophomore outside hitter
Carlie Carlgren registered a team-high eight kills for Cloud County. Freshman pin hitter
Kenadie Casanova followed with six kills and two blocks. Sophomore outside hitter

Ylvie Schmid posted a team-high 18 assists to go with seven digs. Freshman defensive specialist
Brooke Lougheed led the T-Birds defensively with eight digs to go with two service aces. Sophomore libero
Beatrice Giusti added six digs.
Carlgren currently leads the team with 128 kills, an average of 1.88 kills per set. Carlgren also ranks fifth on the team in service aces (19) and fifth on the team in total blocks (19).
Freshman middle hitter
Elizabeth Schuster is second on the team with 120 kills, an average of 1.48 kills per set. Schuster has the top overall attack percentage on the team at .266, while she also leads the team in service aces (25) and total blocks (58).
Sudbeck ranks third on the team in kills (94) and second on the team in total blocks (40).
Redshirt freshman setter
Addyson Ogle paces the T-Bird attack with 295 assists, an average of 5.0 assists per set, and she has also contributed 21 service aces and 101 digs on the season.
Schmid has 200 assists, an average of 5.88 assists per set.
Lougheed has 119 assists while she ranks second on the team in service aces with 23 and second on the team in digs with 169, an average of 2.77 digs per set.
Giusti leads the Cloud County back row with 261 digs, an average of 3.58 digs per set.
Garden City enters this weekend with an overall record of 8-10, including a 5-4 mark in KJCCC play. The Broncbusters are coming off a week layoff after recently suffering a five-set home loss to Colby on October 4.
Earlier this season, the T-Birds dropped a match in straight sets at Garden City, 10-25, 15-25, 14-25, on September 10. Carlgren led the T-Birds with five kills in the match. Ogle had 13 assists, while sophomore defensive specialist
Reachert Chiquin had six digs.
The Garden City attack is fronted by sophomore outside hitter Andrea Djordjevic who has 183 kills, an average of 2.65 kills per set, on a .202 attack percentage. Three other Broncbuster hitters have over 100 kills, including Beatriz Da Cruz Da Silva (142), Jana Gita KoVacevic (111), and Katarina Miscevic (103).
Sophomore setter Vitoria Reis leads the team with 316 assists, an average of 4.58 assists per set, while KoVacevic anchors the back row with 211 digs, an averge of 3.52 digs per set.
Saturday's match will be streamed live on the
T-Bird Sports Network with first serve scheduled for 3 pm.
