The Cloud County Community College wrestling team opens the 2025 portion of its schedule on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11 at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association Coaches Association Duals, hosted by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma.
The duals will take place in the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College gym and Glen Wolfe Student Activity Center, beginning at 9 am on both days.
The T-Birds enter the tournament ranked No. 24 in the first NJCAA Wrestling Rankings of the 2024-2025 season. Cloud County wrapped up the first semester of competition by taking part in the Bob Smith Open, hosted by Fort Hays State University on December 8. Since opening competition on November 2, the T-Birds have also competed this season against a strong mix of NCAA Division I and Division II schools, NAIA institutions and junior colleges in the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjacket Open, the Benedictine College Service Salute, the Grand View University Open, the University of Nebraska-Kearney Younes Hospitality Open, and the Loosbrock Duals, where Cloud County finished 2-2 overall.
Three of Cloud County's upcoming dual opponents are ranked in the first NJCAA Wrestling poll: No. 6 Fort Hays Tech Northwest (February 4), No. 8 Labette (January 15), and No. 20 Cowley (January 29).
Individually, Cloud County sophomore
Macallistair Chambers is ranked No. 6 nationally in the 174 lbs. weight class. Chambers, a returning NJCAA Division I national tournament qualifier, has registered two second place finishes and one third place finish through the first two months of the 2024-2025 season.
Following the NJCAA Coaches Association Duals, Cloud County begins its Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference dual schedule when they head to Parsons, Kansas for a tri-dual with Pratt and Labette on Wednesday, January 15.
