The Cloud County Community College wrestling team dropped two home duals on Wednesday, February 4, with a 27-24 loss to Labette Community College in its first match and a 38-12 setback to No. 8 Pratt Community College in the second match of the night at Arley Bryant Gymnasium.

T-Bird freshman Dakota Gibson was the first to score against Labette with a 17-7 decision over redshirt freshman Tucker Collinsworth at 141 lbs. Sophomore Micah Cauthers scored a 10-1 decision over freshman Roger Mendoza at 174 lbs. Freshman Jase Fitzmorris collected a win by fall against freshman Aiden Cisterna at 184 lbs. Freshman Tyler Pankey added another win by fall over freshman Chance Meggs at 197 lbs., while freshman Brayden Hill earned a 9-1 decision over freshman Gage Wingerter at 285 lbs.

Labette Community College won five of the first six bouts of the match to pick up the 27-24 victory over Cloud County.

In the second match of the night, Cloud County won three bouts. Gibson picked up a win by fall over sophomore Jameal Agnew at 141 lbs. Freshman Drew Sterrett posted a 9-4 decision over Dustin Loughrie at 149 lbs. Hill concluded the match with a tight 2-1 decision against redshirt freshman Marcel Gonzalez at 285 lbs.

The losses drop Cloud County to 12-8 overall and 4-3 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference action.

The T-Birds are back on the mat on February 14 at the 2026 NJCAA South Central District Wrestling Championships inside the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena on the campus of Pratt Community College.
